Available Pathways

Creative Office

International Experience Canada

The program offers three different streams, including working holiday, young professionals, and international co-op (internship) programs, for individuals to explore Canada during their stay.

Obtain a valid job offer from a Canadian employer

If you have a specific skill or work experience needed by the industry, you may obtain a job offer from an employer in Canada. Applicants who receive a valid job offer may be eligible to apply for an employer-specific work permit to come to Canada, or they may be "nominated" by a province for a permanent residency application if they meet the requirement.

Post -Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

For students who graduate from an institution that is eligible for PGWP, they may apply for this type of work permit upon program completion. The validity of PGWP depends on the length of study, and international students are also required to meet all of the eligibility criteria set by IRCC.

Apply for co-op eligible programs

Some programs may include a mandatory practicum/internship component as part of your graduation requirement. To do this, international students must apply for a co-op work permit. Obtaining co-op work experience will enhance the knowledge learned from the program, and can enrich your resume.

Accompanying spouse who holds a valid work/study permit

For those accompanying their spouse who will work/study in Canada, an open work permit may also be an available option. An open work permit holder can work for any employer anywhere in Canada. However, a spouse of a PGWP holder is required to meet certain criteria to apply for a work permit.
